For the first time in four years, the American Filtration & Separations Society’s (AFS) Conference was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from May 6-9. The annual spring conference focused on filtration and separations in global markets.

Christophe Peuchot, Managing Director of IFTS in Agen, France and President of IFTS, Inc. USA, Jerry Lynch, presented the technical session, “How to Compare Performances of Domestic Pools and Spas Filters.” The presentation discussed how the absence of any technical data on the performances of filters to consumers and pool fitters is impacting the European pool filter manufacturers economy. IFTS, as a cooperative research center, has developed a new test method which is currently being studied by CEN TC 402.
Lynch was also a member of a panel where he discussed separation technology, electro-mechanical design & build solutions for products, pilots and test systems for IFTS’ sister company, Sigma Design.
The annual AFS Fall Conference will be held in October in Cincinnati, Ohio and will be focused around the topic of Innovations in Fiber Media.
